The UR Lodge

The Goure residence is where it all began, back in the ‘70’s, with the Goure family, friends and prayer groups envisioning a Light Center dedicated to prayers for the planet. In 1992, the Goures’  home was purchased by United Research, Inc. so that it would remain an integral part of the UR mission.

Now the referred to as The UR Lodge, this wonderful stone structure currently has 8 suites available for Light Center visitors, workshop participants, and personal retreats. The Lodge is also an ideal spot for group events, classes, in-residence workshops and family reunions.

Open year-round and within easy walking distance to the Light Center, the UR Lodge is newly renovated with a spacious kitchen and private bathrooms. Kitchen privileges are available, including limited refrigerator and shelf space for personal food items. A continental breakfast, linens and towels are provided.

The UR Lodge is supported solely by suggested donation, currently ranging from $40 to $70 per night for double occupancy. A 50% deposit is requested to hold all reservations. A full refund is made if cancellation notice is received one week prior to check-in time, or two weeks notice for multiple rooms.

The spiritual artwork, stone fireplace, and deep serenity make it the perfect retreat location.  Image yourself on our stone terrace sipping your favorite beverage while watching the sunrise over the Appalachian Mountains!  We invite you to join us here at the spot many refer to as “their mountain home.”

How to get there:

Take I-40 to exit #64 (Hwy 9 South). Go south on Hwy 9 for 8.3 miles to our gravel road, “Light Center Way” on the right. There is a large white sign for “The Light Center.”   Drive straight up the hill to the Lodge.

From South Carolina:

            Take Interstate 26/Hwy 25 to the Hendersonville/Bat Cave exit. Take Hwy 64 east to Bat Cave, approximately 16 miles. At the “T,” turn left onto Hwy 74/9.  In one block Hwy 9 splits off to the right. Go north on Hwy 9 about 8.7 miles, watching over left shoulder for our gravel drive “Light Center Way” and “The Light Center” sign. Follow the drive straight up hill to the Lodge.
