Weekly Prayer 12/16/17

Dear Light Group,

Across the crazy quilt of religions, there is at least one constant: joy. The attainment of God consciousness is almost always accompanied by ineffable joy. This is true for Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and those of other faiths.

The Bible tells us how the coming of the Christ was time and again greeted with joy.

When we think of the Bible and of the Christ, we think of Jesus. But what about Mary the Christ? She, too, had a highly elevated consciousness, and her presence, too, caused feelings of great joy. When Mary visited Elizabeth, who was pregnant with John, the babe (John) leaped (for joy) in Elizabeth’s womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost and “spake out with a loud voice, ‘Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.’”

Mary also was filled with joy, saying, “My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God, my savior.”

Then there is the time of Jesus’ birth, when the angel of the Lord visited shepherds and told them, “Fear not, for I bring tidings of great joy.” This was followed by a multitude of angels praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest and on Earth, peace, goodwill toward men.”

And so it is with the birth of the Divine within each one of us. There is that tremendous feeling of of joy.  There is that tremendous feeling of upliftment, of knowing, “This is the real thing. This truly is the Divine.  And that fantastic Divinity that is within me and is also within everyone else.” At moments like this, all of our problems dissolve. They become totally insignificant. We have a knowing that the only thing that counts is this Divinity, this Joy.

And so, as we rapidly approach Christmas, let us give thanks for the birth of the Divine with ourselves and within everyone else.

In doing so, you might want to try prayers such as, “Glory be to Thee, God.  Glory be to Thee for Thy Joy.  Glory be to Thee for Thy Peace.  Glory be to Thee for Thy Love.  Glory be to Thee for Thy Light.  Glory be to Thee for Thy  Spirit.  Glory be to Thee for the birth of this Light, Love, Peace, and Joy within me.  Glory be to Thee for the birth of this Light, Love, Peace, and Joy within everyone and everything.  Glory be to Thee for all of the Christs who have walked this planet.  Glory be to Thee for all of the Christs who are currently walking this planet.  Glory be to Thee for the Christ within me and within everyone and everything.”

Love and Light,
Tully
