Weekly Prayer 5/13/17

Dear Light Group,

One of the hardest lessons for many of us is knowing that everything is for the glory of God. When we have personal challenges–illness, work, money, family, friends–it’s tough to feel that these challenges are for the glory of God. When the world seems to have gone bonkers, it can be difficult to see the glory of God.  When we hit a spiritual low point, when we feel adrift, when we feel lost, it’s quite challenging to see how this is for the glory of God.

But that’s the message we got from Jim Goure, who said, “Everything that happens is for the glory of God.  Everything is for the glory of God.”

Jim gave us encouragement when he said, “…when you think of the glory of God, think of the glory of yourself, of the glory of your beingness, of the glory of your becoming a new type of being. And give thanks to God for that happening. Give thanks to the God within, to that which You Are. Give thanks that you are indeed changing and that it indeed is a glory.”

He acknowledged that, “It may take years before the changes take place. During those years, there is travail, there are tears. But every experience is a glory–if we can see that….We cannot make a judgment. Everything is for the glory of God. If we can get into that consciousness, then a knowing comes that God is in the universe, in everyone and everything. There is no place that God is not. So accept whatever happens as the glory of God, as the glory of yourself, as the enhancement of yourself. The glory of God is not limited. The more we become aware that happenings are for the glory of God, the more that we have Energy, the more that we have Life, the more that we have the ability to accomplish the things that Jesus did or greater.”

Let us do just that this Saturday, see the glory in our lives. You might want to try prayers such as these:

  • Thank you, God, for the glory of me.
  • Thank you, God, for the glory of my life.  Thank you, God, for the glory of everything that has happened in my life.  Thank you, God, for the glory of my family.  Thank you, God, for the glory of my parents.  Thank you, God, for the glory of my siblings.  Thank you, God, for the glory of my friends.  Thank you, God, for the glory of those who have opposed me.  Thank you, God, for the glory of my youth.  Thank you, God, for the glory of my middle years.  Thank you, God, for the glory of where I am now.
  • Thank you, God, for the glory of this world.  Thank you, God, for the glory of every country and its peoples.  Thank you, God, for the glory of every country’s leaders.  Thank you, God, for the glory of planet Earth.
  • Thank you, God, for the glory of my teachers, both spiritual and temporal.  Thank you, God, for the glory of those I have taught.
  • Thank you, God, for the glory of Thee, in everyone and everything.

Love and Light,
Tully
